It is now just a matter of days until clubs will be allowed to add to their squad again as the January transfer window opens.
Nottingham Forest famously had a busy summer window with a lot of change going on at the City Ground ahead of their first Premier League season in over 20 years. But that doesn’t mean that it will be a quiet January window for the club.
The Reds have already been linked with a number of players in the winter window, with some exits also expected. With that in mind, here is the latest transfer news and rumours over the last 24 hours.

Cooper makes transfer admission
Steve Cooper has said that the club will bring some players in during the January transfer window, despite bringing 22 new faces to the club in the summer.
The number of new players at the City Ground caused raised eyebrows during the off-season as Steve Cooper looked to prepare his squad for the Premier League. But with Forest sitting in 19th place in the table, the Reds could again turn to the transfer market.
“I think we will bring some players in. You say it through gritted teeth a little bit because everybody is like, ‘oh, here we go again’,” he said after the defeat vs Man United .
“But we can’t be ashamed of that. We’re not. We had to do what we felt was right in the summer.”
Forest transfer U-turn
Aston Villa are being credited with an interest in signing one-time Nottingham Forest target Álex Moreno ahead of the January transfer window .
Moreno, 29, was a primary target for Forest as they aimed to address their strength in depth at left-back after already signing Omar Richards and Harry Toffolo. The Real Betis player opted to remain in Andalucia, though, despite suggestions at one stage that a medical was set to be scheduled.
The Reds went on to bring in Atlético Madrid full-back Renan Lodi on a season-long loan instead. Fresh Premier League interest in the player has now emerged from the opposite side of the Midlands.
Dean Henderson future update
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag says he will wait until the end of the season to make a decision on the future of Dean Henderson.
The goalkeeper is currently on a season long loan with Nottingham Forest after signing a temporary deal in the summer transfer window . He arrived at the City Ground on the lookout for more game time after being unable to unseat David De Gea at Old Trafford.
“I wouldn't give that decision already now,” ten Hag said about the goalkeeper’s future, via Manchester Evening News . “I think he is on a loan for one season.
“During the season, when the season is coming to an end, we will take a decision and that depends on a lot of factors. He is playing really well at Nottingham Forest."
