Nottingham Forest transfer theory emerges amid Taiwo Awoniyi link

Nottingham Forest supporters are split over the latest transfer rumour linking them with Union Berlin's Sheraldo Becker.

A former teammate of Reds summer signing Taiwo Awoniyi, Becker, 27, has effectively replaced the Nigeria international up front for the Bundesliga side after being moved from the right wing into a more central role. Eight goals have followed across all competitions for the side who remain in contention to qualify for European competition once again, even without Awoniyi.

Some Reds supporters a suggesting that the presence of their top goalscorer should play a part in convincing Becker to choose Forest. Here is a selection of the social media reaction to these latest transfer rumours.

Tom Faulkner: Another one? How much would he cost?!

Riley: Awoniyi and Becker link up again? Get on the phone, Taiwo Awoniyi.

Olly Carter: Looks decent, but we just don't need him. Would rather bring Bowler back.

Daryl Porter: We need a striker who can hold up the ball. We’ve already got strikers who like to run onto the ball.

Temitayo Bamidele: Awoniyi can be a key to this happening.

Will H: Converted from a winger to more of a centre forward. Quick and uses his strength. Possibly a Davis type of player?

What do you make of Forest being linked with another Bundesliga player? Have your say in the comments...
