Nottingham Forest transfer target to be offered 'lucrative package' by Championship rivals

West Brom are reported to have stepped up their bid to land Millwall winger Jed Wallace amid transfer interest from Nottingham Forest.

Wallace, 28, will become a free agent this summer once his existing deal with Millwall runs out. The Lions have offered him a new deal, but the winger has yet to finalise an agreement with the London outfit.

A stagnation in contract talks has resulted in plenty of clubs showing an interest in the winger, including Forest and West Brom. Turkish side Besiktas, Sheffield United and Middlesbrough have also been credited with an interest previously.

According to journalist Alan Nixon, Steve Bruce is keen to sign Wallace - who features on the left-wing - and has offered him a "lucrative package" to depart The Den for The Hawthorns. Nixon claims that Wallace's advisors are trying to complete a move to Europe, but Bruce thinks he has a fighting chance of landing Wallace on a deal within his transfer budget.

Forest reportedly had four bids for Wallace rejected by Millwall in the January transfer window, including one on deadline day, as Steve Cooper looked to sign a key target.

A quad injury kept the former Portsmouth and Wolverhampton Wanderers man sidelined during January. After the window closed, he said: "My target at the start of season was getting Millwall promoted. It’s a long way off at the moment but I’ve always enjoyed playing in front of the crowd at The Den and entertaining them.

"I’ll do that for the rest of the season and whatever happens in the summer, happens in the summer."
