Max Lowe says there is no two ways about it - Nottingham Forest's bid to sign him on a permanent transfer from Sheffield United in the summer affected him on the pitch in a really negative way.
The left-back, who can also play in midfield, joined the Reds on loan last season after falling out of favour with then-manager Chris Wilder. It was a successful loan spell in which he made 20 Championship appearances to help the club win promotion to the Premier League via the play-offs.
Forest wanted to turn the deal into a permanent one after the season ended, but the Blades would not sell unless their reported £5m price tag was met. In the end Forest turned to alternative solutions.
