Nottingham Forest forward Alex Mighten has opened up on the "difficult" start to life on loan at Sheffield Wednesday after scoring his first goal for the club.
The 20-year-old joined the Owls on a season-long loan in the summer - the first of his young career. Despite finding game time hard to come by, making just four appearances under Darren Moore in League One, Mighten took his chance with both hands when he was handed a start against Morecambe in the FA Cup.
Eager to show his worth, Mighten put on an outstanding display and matched it with a goal, as Moore's side won 2-0 at Hillsborough. Speaking to YorkshireLive, he admitted the game time was a "confidence boost" for him.

"The minutes were very important for me but, ultimately, it is a confidence boost for myself and the rest of the team as well," he said. "When we keep performing and doing well, it ultimately lifts the team spirit. On a personal note, it gives me that buzz and determination to want to carry on and keep going."
Mighten has had to be patient and fight for his chances under the Wednesday boss. "It was always going to be difficult. I knew what I was getting myself in for," he added. "The team was doing very well so it is not a case of me just slotting straight in.
"You have got to work your way in and prove yourself. That's what I will continue to do and thankfully I took my chance against Morecambe. There is a lot of competition in the squad and it shows the strength and depth in the team as well. We have got a lot of quality players in many different positions."
Despite the tough start, he is enjoying life with the Owls. "All the lads have welcomed me so I'm really appreciative of that. It is a case now of moving forward and hopefully getting good results."
