Nottingham Forest striker Sam Surridge is being linked with a move away from the City Ground this month.
Championship leaders Burnley, managed by Manchester City legend Vincent Kompany, are being touted as a potential option for the former Stoke City forward, who only joined Forest a year ago when he moved from the bet365 Stadium. It is hard to see Surridge departing the City Ground because, if he does, then Reds boss Steve Cooper would be left with only Taiwo Awoniyi, Lyle Taylor and Emmanuel Dennis as the club's out-and-out centre-forwards.
It is being reported that Dennis is set to be made available for transfer given his £15 million move from Watford has not worked out. Surridge is a hero on Trentside for his role in last season's promotion success and fans do not want to see him go.

Here's a selection of the reaction on social media...
David Coleman: Sam must not be allowed to leave. Key squad member. Would start him against Southampton.
Russell Cabble: No, he’s a keeper just needs more game time.
Nathan Froggatt: Would love to see him get more time.
Barry Smith: Surridge is by far our best striker at pressing and possibly finishing.
James Abell: This would be a very silly move. He loves the club, always plays his heart out and scores goals when given the opportunity. He’d be superb for Burnley but I think he’s up there with Awoniyi and deserves a chance. Give him an opportunity up front before you ship him out.
Adrian Moon: He’s never given a chance, definitely keep him!
Nate Woodhead: We need to keep him, We cannot expect our starting 11 to play every Prem game, FA cup and League Cup games and not be shattered. He is a good back up. Hopefully we keep him as we know he is liked by Cooper.
Andrew Pogson: Surprised Sam hasn’t had more game time!
Christopher Harrison: Definitely (keep him). Needs more game time tho or he will want to leave. Hope not.
Jesse Lamby: He’s still got something in him I wouldn’t personally let him go but it ain’t my choice hope he stays as he knows how to finish.
Michael Odwyer: Lacks a yard of pace for Premiership, that's just a fact! But if he's happy to be used as a sub, fair enough, stay. If he wants 90 minutes, Burnley is a good option, let's say yes. 100 per cent for total commitment.
John Harper: Massive, massive mistake by Steve Cooper if he backs this! Will lose a lot of respect for the manager if this happens! Remember Sam was on original Cooper signing and he signed for us because of him!
Martin Kitching: Keep him at the City Ground a cracking player just not getting his chances at the moment.
