Nottingham Forest ‘ready’ £20m transfer bid for Steve Cooper favourite

Nottingham Forest are "ready to launch" a £20m transfer move to sign Wolves midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White.

The 22-year-old performed well on loan at Sheffield United during the season just gone and could now be set for a permanent switch to the City Ground.

Gibbs-White played under Cooper for both Swansea City and England under-17s, and Cooper is said to be interested in reuniting with the young attacking midfielder once more, per journalist Alan Nixon.

Wolves are keen for Gibbs-White to stay at Molineux and want to tie him down to a new contract, but there are doubts over whether or not he will return. He may feel he can get more regular football elsewhere after spending the last two seasons out on loan.

He, of course, played against Forest in the play-off semi-finals. The Reds' promotion will now give them the spending and pulling power to pull off a potential move, should they so wish.

Gibbs-White has also been heavily linked with a move to Southampton, with the same £20m fee quoted in those reports.
