Nottingham Forest old boy reveals 'offers' amid free transfer reunion talk

Former Nottingham Forest full-back Cyrus Christie has revealed that a return to Swansea City next season is currently not an option as the Reds are linked with re-signing the player on a free transfer this summer.

The 29-year-old spent the entirety of the 2020/21 season on loan at the City Ground, making 44 appearances and assisting five goals for Forest in the process. This summer will see Christie finally exit Fulham permanently when the player's four-year contract expires in a month's time.

The second half of last season was spent in South Wales on a temporary basis with Swansea City. The full-back made 23 appearances after arriving in January at a sixth Championship club. Despite enjoying a successful individual spell, a return doesn't appear to be on the cards.

"I don’t think they’ve much of a budget this year, they said," Christie told The42. "Until they put an offer in front that I can consider… I enjoyed the way the manager plays. They took me in from day one, especially the fans. It’s somewhere I’d consider going to if they want me back. ”

Christie also added in the interview that "he isn’t stressing about his next move" and revealed that "there have been offers both in Britain and further afield". There has been reported interest from the Reds and Swansea as well as Watford. Turkish sides Konyaspor and Fenerbache have also been linked.
