Nottingham Forest are reported to be bringing in former Newcastle United managing director Lee Charnley to take up a consultancy role at the club.
Charnley left Newcastle in November of last year following a takeover of the club. He had spent 22 years at St James' Park in total, and worked closely with previous owner Mike Ashley as MD for the last seven of those.
The Telegraph reports that Charnley will join Forest "on a consultancy basis to help with the tricky transition to the top flight" after 23 years outside of the Premier League. It is said that the 44-year-old "has been recruited at the request of the current chief executive Dane Murphy".

Charnley will apparently be asked to focus on matters "away from the football trading side of the operation", such as the stadium, ticketing and matchday issues - and work closely with the Forest hierarchy, including club owner Evangelos Marinakis.
Charnley's arrival could be announced in the next few days, it is reported.
Forest secured a long-awaited return to the top division of English football last season, winning the Championship play-off final at Wembley. They have been busy in the transfer market this summer, making 12 senior signings so far, with more expected to follow.
Steve Cooper's side kicked off their 2022-23 Premier League campaign this weekend, with a 2-0 defeat to Newcastle at St James' Park. They face West Ham at the City Ground next Sunday in their first home game of the season.
