Nottingham Forest handed second transfer opportunity as domino effect kicks off
Nottingham Forest have received a boost in their reported attempts to sign Montpellier defender Maxime Estève.
Forest were linked with the centre-back last week, and it was said that the Reds had an €11million (£9.7million) bid rejected for the 20-year-old. Loic Bade has now left, while Loic Mbe Soh may move on before the end of the month.
So Forest have a gap for another defender to come in, and Estève could be that man. Their offer to Montpellier was knocked back by the Ligue 1 club, who were reluctant to part with their defender until the end of the season - essentially pushing Forest away until the summer.

Nottingham Forest are keen to sign Atalanta striker Duvan Zapata, according to a report.

Zapata, a 31-year-old Colombian, has scored 80 goals and assisted a further 40 in 174 appearances for Atalanta, having joined from fellow Italian side Sampdoria back in 2018. His record has attracted attention from clubs across Europe, with Everton and Forest the latest to register their interest.

The 25-year-old midfielder came through Dynamo's academy and made his debut in the first-team at 19 years of age. With his contract set to run out in the summer, it is claimed by Sport Arena he could be leaving the side this month.
