Former Nottingham Forest midfielder Steve Stone is backing his old club to avoid relegation from the Premier League.
The Reds are currently sitting second from bottom in the table with just 13 points from their first 13 games. Bookmakers consider them the second favourites to go down behind Bournemouth at the end of the season.
Although Steve Cooper's team only have three league wins to their name, Stone is encouraged by the side's performances. He believes that the City Ground crowd can have a similar impact as the Newcastle United fans at St. James' Park are having on Eddie Howe's men.

“If Forest carry on the way they are going, I think they will stay up. If they keep progressing, they will do it,” Stone told The Athletic. “They definitely have enough players. They have the players to cope with injuries and suspensions.
“All you need to do, in the position Forest are in, is to stay in touch. If they can do that, the City Ground crowd will galvanise them.
"I live in Newcastle and everyone is together up here — the supporters, the team, the coaching staff, the owners. It is truly powerful.
“It feels as though the same thing is happening at Forest. The fans will get right behind them. They will make some noise. It will be tough for teams at the City Ground. It would be amazing if they can stay up. If they do, they can build again.”
