Nottingham Forest's under-18s missed out on the FA Youth Cup as Manchester United ran out 3-1 winners in the final at Old Trafford.
But the clash was mired in controversy in the 76th minute when Zach Abbott fouled Alejandro Garnacho with a penalty being awarded despite replays showing the incident occurred outside the area.
The score was 1-1 at that stage after Warren Joyce's side had fought back to level through Josh Powell but Garnacho put United 2-1 in front as he scored from the spot.

The highly-rated United forward then made it 3-1 late on as the young Reds had to settle for being runners up. But Forest fans were convinced on social media that the next generation of talent had been hard done by with the penalty decision. Here's what they had to say.
Henrik NFFC Johansen: "So sad for the young lads, did so well, and then robbed and down 2-1… Lads, heads up, be proud. you have done so well, you showed heart, soul and some pretty good football, YOU REDS."
Karen: "We were definitely the better side the majority of that game, shame about that decision to give a penalty when it obviously wasn’t."
Claire: "They should be incredibly proud of themselves tonight. The less said about the officiating, the better."
Mr Dan1000: "The young Forest lads should be immensely proud of that performance. We were the better team throughout and were only undone by a WRONG penalty decision. Well done young tricky trees."
Ash Moult: "Well played lads! Outstanding performance in the first half. Shame the officials let you down in the second half. Unlucky to lose."
Dave Ball: "Fantastic performance robbed by a dodgy decision. Better team I’d say. Heads held high boys."
