Nottingham Forest face transfer decision as boss eyes midfielder reunion

West Brom have been tipped to make a move for Nottingham Forest midfielder Lewis O'Brien.

The 24-year-old played under West Brom boss Carlos Corberan at Huddersfield before moving to the City Ground last summer.

He was a key part of the Huddersfield team that lost to Forest in the play-off final at Wembley last season and Forest snapped him up in the transfer window soon thereafter.

O'Brien could now be set to leave, with journalist Alan Nixon reporting that his former boss Corberan is keen on a reunion. The midfielder has made just 12 appearances in the Premier League for Forest this season, but was virtually ever present in the Championship under Corberan.

West Brom are currently ninth in the Championship, just a point outside the play-off places, and are looking for January reinforcements to boost their promotion hopes. O'Brien could top their list, especially as he didn't feature in the matchday squad last time out at Southampton, although he play at Blackpool on Saturday.

Left-back Harry Toffolo, who followed O'Brien from Huddersfield to Forest, has been linked with a transfer of his own as Evangelos Marinakis' Olympiacos are said to be interested in signing the left-back.
