Nottingham Forest could lose out in the race for two Brazilian left-backs this summer.
The Reds have been consistently linked with a move to bring Renan Lodi back after his successful loan spell last season, however, Benfica have emerged as the leading contenders with various outlets casting doubt on Forest's chances.
Lodi's days at Atletico Madrid look numbered with the player not in Diego Simeone's plans. Forest could have signed the Brazil international for around £25m during his loan spell but the deadline for a deal passed as they battled relegation.
Reds urged to sign Liverpool keeper
Nottingham Forest have been urged to sign Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher in the summer transfer window.
The 24-year-old looks set to leave Liverpool in search of first team football, as the Irishman has played just 21 games over the last five seasons. He joined Liverpool from Ringmahon Rangers as a 16-year-old and has never played for another club.
Former Forest stopper Mark Crossley, who played for Forest between 1987 and 2000, has recommended Kelleher to the Reds, while also giving his thoughts on Dean Henderson and Wayne Hennessey ahead of next season.
Pickford move could spark domino effect
Manchester United are 'ready' to sign Jordan Pickford in a move that could pave the way for Nottingham Forest to buy Dean Henderson.
United are preparing to make a £30million move for Everton goalkeeper Pickford, who could replace David De Gea amid uncertainty over the Spaniard's future at Old Trafford. His contract is expiring at the end of this month, though he holds an option to extend it by a further year. He has not yet taken that up.
Forest are all set to make their move for Henderson, who was on loan at the club last season, but United are waiting to resolve De Gea's future before they allow Henderson to leave permanently. A move for Pickford could be just the piece of the puzzle that Forest are looking for, opening the door for Henderson to make his move to Forest permanent.
Smith linked with League Two move
Former Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Jordan Smith has been linked with a move to Stockport County.
The 28-year-old is a free agent after being released by Forest at the end of his contract.
He began the season as Forest's third choice keeper before going on loan to Huddersfield Town in January, however, he did not play a single minute for the team the Reds beat in the the 2022 Championship play-off final.
Panzo close to Rangers move
Rangers are in "advanced talks" with Nottingham Forest to sign defender Jonathan Panzo.
The two clubs are in discussions over a £2.5million deal that will see Panzo move to Ibrox just 18 months after signing for Forest, according to our colleagues at the Daily Record. Rangers are at the "front of the queue" for his signature with Championship sides Coventry City and West Brom also interested in the 22-year-old.
The Scottish giants hold an advantage because of their manager Michael Beale, who coached Panzo when he was coming through the academy system at Chelsea. Rangers are said to have scouted him several times over the past season, while he was on loan at Coventry City as they reached the Championship play-off final.
