Nottingham Forest coach ‘leaving’ to join Championship rivals

Nottingham Forest’s head of strength and conditioning Brent Dickinson is reportedly set to leave the club.

The coach has been at the City Ground for eight years, first joining as head of academy strength and conditioning before being promoted to the first-team role in November 2020. Training Ground Guru now report that the backroom staff member is due to join newly-promoted Rotherham United.

Dickinson will reportedly join the Millers as senior performance coach with the move coming after Ross Burbeary left the club in order to join Lincoln City. Rotherham confirmed their return to the Championship at the weekend, with a final-day win over Gillingham.

During his time at the club, Dickinson has worked with a number of players both helping them through the academy, working with players such as Brennan Johnson. He has also working with senior players in the first team since his promotion in 2020.

The coach has worked under a number of Forest first-team coaches. Permanent managers he has worked with during his time at the club include: Stuart Pearce, Dougie Freedman, Philippe Montanier, Mark Warburton, Aitor Karanka, Martin O’Neill, Sabri Lamouchi, Chris Hughton and Steve Cooper.

All of the managers have attempted to lead Forest back to the Premier League, but the Reds now have a real chance under Cooper. They face a crucial game against AFC Bournemouth on Tuesday night with a win putting their fate into their own hands going into the final game of the season.
