Dean Henderson is “close” to completing a permanent move Nottingham Forest from Manchester United, says a European transfer specialist.
The 26-year-old goalkeeper joined the Reds on a season-long loan from Old Trafford last summer, playing 20 times in all competitions and keeping six clean sheets in the Premier League during the first six months of the campaign.
However, he has not played since January after suffering a thigh injury against Leicester City. Manager Steve Cooper drafted in Paris Saint Germain stopper Keylor Navas for the remainder of the season. Nonetheless, Henderson has remained fully invested in Forest and joined players in celebrating survival after the 1-0 win over Arsenal on the final day of the season.

And it’s clear that both the player and Forest want the relationship to continue with a permanent switch to the City Ground.
The Reds are prepared to do a deal for up to £30 million for the loanee, according to the Manchester Evening News. It is said the salary they would be prepared to offer has already been indicated, having completely covered the keeper's £110,000 a week wages while he has been at Forest.
Asked by Man United News if Forest have a deal in place for Henderson, and whether he thinks United will want to get on with that, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano said: “Yes, this is close. This is something that has been discussed for weeks, I would say two or three weeks - discussions between Nottingham Forest, Man United and the agent of the player.
“The player wants to go, Man United want to accept that proposal so I think this is just a matter of time to complete the final details and then Henderson has a complete chance to join Nottingham Forest. I am told it is not done yet but it could be done very soon.”
