Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cooper names his team to face Bournemouth

Head coach Steve Cooper has named his Nottingham Forest team to face Bournemouth in this afternoon’s Premier League clash.

The Reds go into the game looking to bounce back from their midweek thumping at Manchester City. Hoping to quickly draw a line under the 6-0 defeat, they will be aiming for an immediate response against fellow newly-promoted side the Cherries.

Since Wednesday night’s match at the Etihad Stadium, Cooper has been able to put the finishing touches to his squad. Defenders Willy Boly and Loic Bade were added on transfer deadline day, with Josh Bowler heading out on loan after putting pen to paper.

The most recent additions will have to wait to make their debuts, however. Cooper makes two changes to the side which started in midweek.

Steve Cook comes into the back line to face his former club, with Cheikhou Kouyate moving into midfield. And Jesse Lingard is recalled to the XI, as Remo Freuler and Lewis O’Brien drop to the bench.

Cook will take his place alongside Joe Worrall and Scott McKenna in a back three, ahead of goalkeeper Dean Henderson. Renan Lodi keeps his spot at left wing-back, having made his first appearance against City, with Neco Williams on the right.

Kouyate will line up alongside Ryan Yates in the centre of the pitch. Meanwhile, Lingard will link up with Morgan Gibbs-White and Brennan Johnson in attack. On the substitutes’ bench will be Wayne Hennessey, Giulian Biancone, Jack Colback, Taiwo Awoniyi, Lewis O’Brien, Harry Toffolo, Remo Freuler, Emmanuel Dennis, Willy Boly.

Forest: Henderson; Worrall, Cook, McKenna; Williams, Yates, Kouyate, Lodi; Johnson, Lingard, Gibbs-White. Subs: Hennessey, Biancone, Colback, Awoniyi, O’Brien, Toffolo, Freuler, Dennis, Boly.
