Nottingham Forest ace Jesse Lingard reveals what Jose Mourinho and Steve Cooper have in common

Jesse Lingard has revealed one thing Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cooper and former Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho have in common.

The 30-year-old, who is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury, has opened up about his footballing career, life and Forest in an interview with Dragons Den star Steven Bartlett.

Lingard ended his 22-year connection with United in the summer, making the move to the City Ground as a free agent. While he is still settling in at his new club, Lingard is grateful for the way in which Cooper takes care of his players.

"Even in this day and age now, man management is important," he told The Diary of a CEO. "Jose [Mourinho] used to face time me just randomly. I’d be driving home and it’d be Jose just checking in.

"It’s little things like that. You know, Steve Cooper at Nottingham Forest, he’ll ring me, have little conversations, checking that you’re alright. I think it’s so important. It shows they care."
