Nottingham City Council has issued an update on when residents can expect their £150 council tax rebate. Some taxpayers in the city are still waiting for their rebate which has been issused across the country by the government to try to tackle the cost of living prices.
The city council says they have already made around 25,000 payments, but that some people who pay their council tax by direct debit have not yet received their money. The council has confirmed these people should recieve the rebate "in due course" - anyone who does not pay by direct debit will recieve a letter explaining how they can apply.
Deputy Leader of Nottingham City Council. Adele Williams. said: "We know that this year will be tougher than most, particularly for those on lower incomes, and have worked hard to get the energy rebate payments underway. Starting with those who pay their Council Tax by direct debit on the first of the month, to date we have made around 25,000 payments.
