Notre Dame's women's basketball team has reached its highest ranking since 2019, moving up to No. 2 in The Associated Press Top 25. The Fighting Irish's ascent to the second spot comes after South Carolina's loss to Texas, causing them to drop to fourth in the rankings.
UCLA remains the unanimous No. 1 choice in the poll, with Texas climbing to third following their victory over South Carolina. LSU and USC also moved up in the rankings, with UConn dropping to seventh after a loss to Tennessee.

Other notable movements in the rankings include Kentucky reaching eighth place, Ohio State at ninth, and North Carolina State jumping to 10th after impressive wins over ranked opponents.
Creighton and Baylor entered the poll at No. 24 and 25, respectively, while Vanderbilt and California dropped out. UConn achieved a milestone with its 600th consecutive appearance in the poll, the longest streak in history.
Grand Canyon received its first-ever vote in the poll, a significant achievement for the program that transitioned to Division I in 2013. The team has been on a 20-game winning streak this season.
The Southeastern Conference leads with seven ranked teams, followed by the ACC with six, and the Big Ten and Big 12 with five each. The Big East has two teams in the Top 25.
