Norway set to lodge fresh Fifa complaint after demanding Infantino to resign

  • Norway 's football federation has demanded the immediate resignation of Fifa president Gianni Infantino , citing a complete loss of confidence following his failed plan to sell World Cup stakes through the Fifa Forward Enterprise (FFE).
  • Lise Klaveness, president of the Norwegian federation, stated that there is "no trust in Infantino now" while speaking to The Guardian , and that the organisation intends to lodge a new complaint with Fifa's ethics committee.
  • The ethics complaint from Norway is expected to cover the FFE initiative, the peace prize awarded to Donald Trump, and the controversial suspension of Folarin Balogun's World Cup ban.
  • European football's governing body, Uefa, reiterated its threat to boycott the World Cup and other Fifa competitions, also reaffirming its lost confidence in Infantino, while the English Football Association and the Football Association of Wales have withdrawn support for his re-election.
  • Despite growing opposition in Europe, Infantino has received support from other nations, with the Confederation of African Football (Caf), Mexico, and Argentina backing him to continue in his role.
