Northumberland festival adds S Club Allstars to Dodgy line-up

The combined pop talents that make up S Club Allstars will be on show when a free Northumberland music festival makes its return this summer.

The band - a mix of past members of S Club and S Club Juniors - will share the headline spotlight at Gallagher Park Live in Bedlington along with Dodgy, it has been announced.

It means that festival-goers on July 16 will be able to enjoy a whole nostalgia-fest of music in the company of Dodgy - rising stars of 1990s Britpop era - then 2000s pop from the favourites who had fans on their feet with such hits as Don’t Stop Moving, Bring it all Back, Reach and S Club Party.

The Bedlington performance will include Stacey Franks from S Club Juniors - which formed in 2001, cast from a reality TV show, and produced Top 10 singles One Step Closer, Automatic High and Puppy Love - and Tina Barrett and Bradley McIntosh of S Club 7.

Festival organiser Mel Jackson said. “We’ve even more acts to be confirmed and there will be a great atmosphere in Gallagher Park with fairground rides, food concessions and hopefully good weather.”

The family-friendly festival, which was cancelled for the past two years due to the pandemic, is funded by East Bedlington Parish Council, with parish and town council contributions as well as private donations.

Parish clerk Ron Thornton said: “S Club Allstars will give us plenty of songs to sing along to - their back catalogue is simply hit after hit.

"With Dodgy and S Club Allstars now confirmed we can all look forward to a fantastic day out.”
