Northeast marching ahead to be on a par with rest of India: Sarbananda Sonowal

As the Congress neglected the Northeast for the last 60 years, the BJP-led government at the Centre had to face challenges in accelerating the development of the region, Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said on June 8.

Speaking to reporters at the Regional Ayurveda Research Institute (RARI) in Itanagar, Mr. Sonowal said that because of the development initiatives undertaken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Northeast is marching ahead to be on a par with other parts of the country.
