A cocaine plot head honcho using the moniker "Greggs Pastie" in encrypted chats has been jailed for more than 12 years.
Christopher Riley thought he was safe to communicate freely on the EncroChat platform but when police infiltrated it, the activities of the seemingly law-abiding family man were laid bare, to the shock of those who thought they knew him.
In just two months, Riley and right-hand-man Darren Johnson had bought and moved on an estimated 15 kilos of 87-89% pure cocaine, with more than £415,000 in cash flowing into their hands. Now the pair have been jailed for a total of 22 years at Newcastle Crown Court.
