The North East is in for a bright and sunny start to the Easter weekend as Thursday's evening showers are set to clear up to give way to some fine spring weather.
According to the latest forecast from the Met Office, Good Friday will be dry with plenty of sunshine for most of the region, with some cloud possible along the coast. Get out and enjoy the sunny spells while you can, as by the evening cloud will become more widespread and risks bringing some light showers.
The outlook for the weekend is also generally dry with bright spells, though the fresh winds may mean you won't be able to ditch that big winter coat just yet. Here's what the weather looks like hour-by-hour in Newcastle over the next two days.
