While households across the North East may have been greeted with laying snow this morning, the ice soon thawed making way for a rather pleasant and sunny day.
However, the yellow weather warnings for snow and ice have been extended across the week - with further warnings in place for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Tomorrow's forecast looks to be sunny in the morning before the clouds sweep over by early afternoon.
Temperatures are expected to bounce between 4C and -1C.

The Met Office said: "A bright, cold, and frosty start with scattered snow showers along coastlines. Cloudier through the afternoon with the odd snow shower pushing inland at times.
