North East weather: Hour-by-hour forecast as Met Office predicts showery weekend

The North East is in for a rather wet weekend as cloud and outbreaks of rain make their way across the region overnight.

According to the latest weather forecast from the Met Office, Saturday is set to be largely cloudy, particularly on the coast, with occasional spells of rain as temperatures peak at around 12°C. Sunday is also looking unsettled, with showers continuing alongside a strengthening northerly breeze.
