North East hour-by-hour weather forecast predicts cold conditions on Sunday and Monday

Cold conditions, with cloud and outbreaks of rain is forecast for tomorrow, with a chance of wintry showers during the week.

The Met Office predicts that sunny but cold conditions could turn into outbreaks of rain.

The official Met Office forecast for Sunday is: "Early cloud and showers quickly replaced by sunny but cold conditions, with cloud and outbreaks of rain spreading east during evening. The rain or showers may be wintry at times. Maximum temperature 4 °C."

The outlook for Monday to Wednesday is: "Mostly dry with clear or sunny spells. Wintry showers possible, these largely confined to coastal areas while inland areas remain dry. Widespread sharp overnight frosts and ice risk. Feeling cold."
