Norma Hunt, the wife of Chiefs founder and sports magnate Lamar Hunt and the only woman to attend every Super Bowl, has died. She was 85.
Hunt, a teacher by trade, worked for the franchise when it was known as the Dallas Texans. She married Lamar in 1964, and they remained married until his death in Dec. 2006.
Over the course of 57 years, Hunt was in attendance for Kansas City's three Super Bowl victories—against the Vikings in Super Bowl IV, against the 49ers in Super Bowl LIV and against the Eagles in Super Bowl LVII.
In fact, Hunt is said to have played a small role in naming the game, buying Super Balls as gifts for her children just as pro football's owners were seeking to rename the AFL-NFL World Championship Game.
Inspired, the story goes that Lamar Hunt suggested the name "Super Bowl" as a potential replacement at league meetings, and the rest is history.
Norma and Lamar had two sons together, Clark and Daniel Hunt. Clark is currently the chairman and co-owner of the Chiefs.
