Non Viet opening new Glasgow restaurant specialising in vegan and vegetarian food

A new Vietnamese restaurant specialising in vegan and vegetarian food is set to open in Glasgow.

The team behind Non Viet and Non Viet Hai will be launching Non Viet Ba next month boasting a wider variety of authentic Vietnamese dishes for their customers.

With covid out of the way, the company is back on track to realising its dream of growing to four locations with the latest set to open on Dumbarton Road next month.

Co-founder Ian Donaldson explained: "Six years ago when we started Non Viet on Sauchiehall Street it was always our intention to grow to four locations - our ‘flagship’ and three smaller locations serving different areas. Then the on sought of covid delayed our plans.

"By having a fully vegan menu in our new restaurant, we were hoping to provide a wider variety of dishes to our vegan and vegetarian customers from Non Viet and Non Viet Hai.

"We also wanted to bring the vegan experience closer to our Glasgow customers who have loved the vegan menu in Sen Viet, our sister restaurant in Edinburgh."

The menu at Non Viet Ba, with Ba meaning three in Vietnamese, will also feature a menu that is affordable for all budgets.

Ian added: "Sure the hospitality industry is suffering from high costs but Non Viet took a pragmatic view long before the start of the pandemic and our investment plans were simply delayed.

"The cost of living is a concern and with that in mind, we tailor our menus to try and cater to everyone. Our core customer base has been with us from the start and is very loyal."

Non Viet Ba will be taking over a former Italian bistro at 279 Dumbarton Road.

It's hoped that the venue will be open by mid-April but watch this space for any further updates.
