NOIDA: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has submitted a revised route for the crucial extension of the Aqua Line that will connect it directly with the Botanical Garden station, where the Blue and Magenta Lines converge. The new route of the proposed Botanical Garden-Sector 142 corridor includes more residential sectors along the Noida-Greater Noida carriageway of the expressway such as sectors 46, 47 and 108, which weren’t included in the previous plan.
Initially, DMRC had made a detailed project report (DPR) suggesting 10 stations on this route. In March this year, however, it submitted a revised DPR with just five metro stations — sectors 91, 98, 97, 125 and Botanical Garden — at an estimated cost of Rs 1,794.3 crore for the 11.6km corridor.
