'Nobody told me..that's very confusing': Indian man Kamlesh Shah charged with election fraud in US says he didn't know he was not supposed to vote

67-year-old Kamlesh Navnitlal Shah, a retired dentist from California, said he had no idea that he was not supposed to vote in the 2024 election, as he was a permanent resident but not a citizen. He has now been charged with fraudulently registering to vote in US elections. After his name came up in the list of foreign nationals who voted in the election in California, he said he was scared as he was not aware of the situation. Dr Shah said he met an accident five to six years ago and was in a coma for six months, and can hardly talk or walk.
