No timetable still for Kyler Murray’s return but QB wants to be back quickly

The biggest question facing the Arizona Cardinals this offseason is when quarterback Kyler Murray will be ready to play after his torn ACL.

Murray is in Arizona working hard on his rehabilitation. However, it is still too far out to know when to expect him back.

Head coach Jonathan Gannon was asked about any timeline for Murray when he addressed the media at the NFL combine.

There was no question about what Murray wants.

“He wants to be out there as fast as he can,” he told reporters in Indianapolis, per AZCardinals.com’s Darren Urban.

“I told Kyler I’m not going to rush him back,” Gannon said. “Part of what makes Kyler so elite are his legs. When he’s ready to play, he’ll play. I don’t know exactly the timetable right now. Everyone heals a little differently.”

He had surgery on his knee at the beginning of January.

Even the most optimistic timeline would put Murray coming back barely at the season’s beginning.

He will likely miss games to start the season. The question is how many and we just don’t know that yet.
