Many were surprised when the Jacksonville Jaguars spent the No. 1 overall pick in the 2022 NFL draft on Georgia edge defender Travon Walker, but his performance in Sunday’s regular-season opener proved just how much potential the former Bulldog has at the next level.
Despite the fact that the Jags let a late lead slip away in a 28-22 loss to the Washington Commanders, Walker proved that the team still has a bright future thanks to their young talent.
Walker wasted little time making a big impact, showing off his impressive pass-rushing ability by getting to Commanders quarterback Carson Wentz for his first career sack:

That was nothing compared to the ridiculous interception Walker made later in the game, snaring a would-be screen pass from Wentz right out of the air:

Jacksonville didn’t hold on for the win, but their fans can hold onto the hope that they landed a potentially dominant defender with this year’s top draft pick.
