The Xbox Extended Showcase is here and the first interview gave fans an in-depth look at Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty’s darkest corner of the map.
The newest DLC for Cyberpunk 2077, Phantom Liberty sees V and a cast of characters fight to save their lives in the raining and killer city that fans have come to know. This DLC will also add a new ending to the base game, giving players even more content to enjoy.
The main Xbox Showcase gave us our first look at in-game engine footage with Idris Elba’s new character joining the ranks alongside Keanu Reeve’s fan-favorite, Jonny Silverhand.
Pawel Sasko, quest director for Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty showed fans a sneak peak at what we can expect from the underside of Night City. I know what you’re thinking, “the infamos grimy Night City has an underside?”. Surprising as it may be, and somehow the underside is even more punk than what players are used to.
“As you can see, Dogtown welcomes you with open arms”, Sasko says as he introduces the trailer's location, Black Market. Here players can obtain “unique cyberware and weapons, things that you cannot find anywhere else in this world”.
While Dogtown is a part of Night City it clearly has its own atmosphere and look. The numerous neon signs are traded in for steampunk furnishings as the underground city goes for a more traditional punky look.
Dogtown and Black Market is also out of the jurisdiction and so attracts all “kinds of excentrics and dangerous characters”. There's cyber-flamethrowing arms dealers, side quests, and the grotty black market where there's all the illegal weapons and goods you could ever want.
All in all, Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty looks like it’ll be a much appreciated addition to action RPG that fans have come to love, so here’s hoping we get to see more of the dark underground city before it releases September 26 later this year.
