Nicole Kidman has unveiled the first Atelier Versace design by Pieter Mulier, wearing a black lace gown to the Los Angeles premiere of Practical Magic 2 on August 31. The appearance marks Mulier's first publicly revealed design for Versace since his appointment as the house's chief creative officer earlier this year.
The gown is made entirely from hand-intarsia lace and features an asymmetrical skirt. Kidman paired the dress with a matching lace choker and black stilettos, creating a look that WWD identified as Mulier's first design for Atelier Versace.
The timing is significant for Versace. Mulier has joined the Italian fashion house at a moment of creative transition, and his first full runway collection is not expected until 2027. For now, Kidman's premiere appearance provides the first public example of his work under the Versace name.
