Nicola Sturgeon announces end of vaccine passports and face masks in Scotland

Covid vaccine passports will no longer be a legal requirement in Scotland from next week while the wearing of face masks is to be phased out across the country by late March, Nicola Sturgeon has announced.

The First Minister confirmed Scots will no longer be asked to present their jag certification status to businesses or venues as of February 28, but the app supporting the scheme will remain live.

Masks will no longer be legally mandated in public places, but the government are to continue “strongly recommending” coverings are worn by those travelling on public transport and using other public places.
