Nicola Peltz has finally addressed rumours that there was a ‘feud’ with Brooklyn Beckham’s mother, Victoria Beckham.
The 27-year-old actor appeared to shut down suggestions that she didn’t get on with her husband’s mother during a recent interview with Variety.
Speaking alongside Beckham, Peltz said she believed the rumour began when she didn’t wear a Victoria Beckham wedding dress when the couple married earlier this year.
However, the Bates Motel star revealed that there was a valid reason for her selecting a Valentino couture wedding gown instead.
During their conversation with the publication, Beckham maintained that the whole family gets on.
“I was going to and I really wanted to, and then a few months down the line, she realized that her atelier couldn’t do it, so then I had to pick another dress,” Peltz explained, about her choice of wedding dress.
Dismissing claims of a feud, Peltz added: “She didn’t say you can’t wear it; I didn’t say I didn’t want to wear it. That’s where it started.”
Peltz’s husband also chimed in: “I’ve learned they’re always going to try to write stuff like that. They’re always going to try and put people down. But everyone gets along, which is good.”
Following Peltz and Beckham’s lavish wedding in April, there had been mounting speculation of a rift between the Transformers actor and her mother-in-law.
Several months later, Peltz also appeared to criticise Brooklyn’s parents in an interview with Tatler.
Earlier this week, the star also sparked concern when she shared a picture on social media in which she was crying in bed alongside a close-up of her eyes looking puffy. Although she didn’t reveal who had upset her, Peltz spoke of people who “make you feel bad” in the lengthy caption.
As well as finally putting rumours of a ‘feud’ to bed, Peltz and Beckham also opened up about their thoughts of starting a family.
“I keep saying to my wife, I can’t wait to be a dad,” Beckham admitted to Variety. “I’m ready to have kids, but I always tell my wife, whenever you want.”
Nicola then explained: “We don’t plan on having kids anytime in the next year. But we would love to have a big family one day — we would love to have some of our own, and we would love to adopt.”
