Police investigating the disappearance of missing mum-of-two Nicola Bulley have sealed off all the roads close to the scene where she went missing more than three weeks ago. Nicola, 45, was last seen on the morning of Friday, January 27, as she walked her springer spaniel Willow in the village of St Michael’s on Wyre, Lancashire.
Despite a huge investigation by Lancashire Police involving more than 40 officers, the missing mortgage advisor has not yet been found. According to a photographer at the scene this afternoon who spoke to the Mirror, police have cordoned off all the roads near the River Wyre this afternoon, along with part of a footpath.
They said: "It all happened so fast. Police have sealed all the roads off. There are police drones too and police cars everywhere. It's fair to say a massive search is underway."
The Mirror is reporting that a "massive search" is now being carried out after an alleged tip-off from two walkers. Pictures taken at the scene today appear to show a member of the public speaking to an officer, while pointing towards the River Wyre, as well as a police helicopter at the scene.
Divers have now reportedly arrived at the search site, less than a mile away from where the mum-of-two was last seen, and Senior Investigating Officer Detective Superintendent Rebecca Smith is understood to have arrived at the scene.
Lancashire Police has been contacted for comment on the latest activity. LancashireLive are reporting from the scene.
Nicola vanished after dropping off their daughters, aged six and nine, at school on January 27 in St Michael’s on Wyre. She was last seen at 9.10am taking her usual route with her springer spaniel Willow, alongside the River Wyre.
Her phone, still connected to a work call for her job as a mortgage adviser, was found just over 20 minutes later on a bench overlooking the riverbank, with her dog running loose. There has been no sign of her since, leaving partner Paul Ansell and their friends and family devastated.
At 9.33am, another dog walker found her phone on a bench beside the river, with Willow darting between the two. At 10.50am, Ms Bulley’s family and the school attended by her children were told about her disappearance.
