ST JOHNSTONE look set to snap up Dundee United striker Nicky Clark.
The Perth club have agreed a fee for the former Rangers frontman and discussions are underway regarding personal terms.
Clark was United's top scorer last term but he has struggled for game time this season at Tannadice with Tony Watt and Steven Fletcher the preferred options.
Callum Davidson has been vocal regarding his hopes to bring in a new striker to challenge Stevie May and Theo Bair.
Clark's transfer comes as Dundee United sacked manager Jack Ross today.
The former Alloa, St Mirren, Sunderland and Hibernian manager lasted just seven games in charge.
United lost 9-0 to Celtic on Sunday to make it five consecutive defeats and 23 goals conceded in their last four games.
A club statement read: “Dundee United can confirm head coach Jack Ross has been relieved of his duties with immediate effect.
“Liam Fox will take charge of the the first team on an interim basis with the focus now fully on Wednesday’s Premier Sports Cup match with Livingston.”
