The Eagles are facing their first bit of real adversity season with the news that Lane Johnson (abdominal) and Avonte Maddox (toe) are set to miss an extended amount of time.
Johnson left Saturday’s loss against the Cowboys with an abdominal injury that will have him out for the remainder of the season and potentially the postseason.
Maddox is dealing with a toe injury that’s been described as “significant” and is out indefinitely.
Here’s what the head coach said about those two players, along with Jalen Hurts and C.J. Gardner-Johnson.
Siriani on Jalen Hurts
It’ll be the second week in a row that Sirianni says Hurts is a possibility for this weekend’s game and he’ll monitor the quarterback’s shoulder sprain.
Nick Sirianni had no update on #Eagles QB Jalen Hurts’ condition. Still a chance he can play Sunday. He doesn’t heal like you or I.
(Said the same last week. Hurts never practiced.)

Sirianni on potential replacements for Johnson
Everything is on the table in terms of replacements for Johnson at right tackle.
"Everything would be on the table," Sirianni said when asked about moving Jordan Mailata to RT and playing Andre Dillard at LT.

C.J. Gardner-Johnson
Gardner-Johnson can be activated off the injured reserve as early as this week, but Sirianni stated that the status of their star safety will be something to watch.

Sirianni on Maddox and Johnson
The Eagles’ head coach confirmed that both players will miss time, but wasn’t specific on the length of time.
#Eagles HC Nick Sirianni on RT Lane Johnson (abdomen) on CB Avonte Maddox (toe):
Still evaluating through everything. They should miss some time. Not gonna put a timetable on returns.
