Nick Saban retired at the end of a discouraging 2023 season for the Alabama Crimson Tide. Considered one of the best coaches in college football history, Saban is still relevant, especially in the college ranks.
He was able to join ESPN on College Gameday, where the Ohio State football program was, of course, mentioned.
The Buckeyes added a slew of top transfers this offseason, including Alabama defensive back Caleb Downs and Ole Miss running back Quinshon Judkins. Both Downs and Judkins were among the elite players that hit the market. Ohio State also added Kansas State starting quarterback Will Howard.
It is documented that the Buckeyes had a bank to work with. That bank was also known as $20 million in NIL funds to soak into a program that is set to be one of the best in the country.
Saban commented on that during his College Gameday appearance (warning, foul language included).

Let’s just say it appears there may still be some hurt feels after Downs left for Columbus. Nonetheless, the Buckeyes appear confident that they have brought the right talent to the well-respected program.
