Nick Knowles compares Prince Harry and William's rift to a couple breaking up on ITV's Lorraine

Nick Knowles compared Prince Harry and William's rift to a couple breaking up while on ITV's Lorraine.

The TV presenter appeared on the daytime programme on Friday (December 16) to discuss his latest show on Channel 5, Nick Knowles' Amazing Railway Adventure. The first episode will see Nick will make the train journey across Peru's extraordinary landscapes to Machu Picchu.

Starting at Puno on Lake Titicaca, Nick will visit the highest point on its railway line - and the fourth highest train station in the world - at La Reya. Over the course of six episodes, Nick will visit five countries - Peru, Mexico, Norway, Vietnam, and Malaysia - in addition to the American state of Alaska.

But conversation soon lead to Nick's experience working with Prince Harry and Prince William on a special episode of DIY SOS. The royal duo appeared on the show in 2015, helping to renovate Canada Street in Newton Heath, Manchester, into homes for ex-service personnel.

Both Nick and Lorraine spoke about how 'sad' they thought the rift between the brothers is. Lorraine suggested that Nick could be the one to reunite the pair by inviting them both back on DIY SOS.

"Wouldn't that be lovely," Nick responded, adding: "It's just hugely sad. When I knew them then [when they appeared on DIY SOS] they were amazing together, I liked them both. And they knew they were capable of doing amazing things and making amazing change.

"And it feels at the moment, like your best friends who are a couple splitting up and you have to pick a side. And that's the trouble now, it's like if you're on one side you're racist, if you're on the other side you're destroying the establishment."

The final volume of the Sussexes’ controversial Netflix documentary features claims about Meghan’s treatment in the press, her mental health and their relationship with the Prince of Wales. Some of the more explosive claims by the pair included Harry talking of the 'terrifying' moment his brother 'screamed and shouted' at him, and when the duchess described feeling suicidal after her treatment by the British media.
