- Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust has declared a critical incident following record patient attendances at its emergency departments.
- More than 100 patients were left facing lengthy waits for treatment in hospital corridors amidst extreme pressure on staff.
- Over 200 patients who are medically safe to leave remain in hospital beds, representing nearly eight wards of delayed discharges.
- The trust recorded three of its highest attendance figures in history over the past fortnight, alongside a high volume of cardiology patients requiring intensive care.
- Chief nurse Tracy Pilcher apologised for the severe delays and urged families to collect discharge-ready relatives as soon as possible to help ease pressure.
