People, who were evicted from the Edappally-Moothakunnam corridor to widen NH 66 as a six-lane corridor, would hold a dharna in front of the office of the deputy collector (land acquisition) on Thursday morning, protesting against what the Samyukta Samara Samithi that spearheaded the agitation demanding sound compensation for evictees termed as the government going back on its assurances.
The main demands include comprehensive rehabilitation, repayment of “salvage charge”, “rectification” of the NH alignment at Tirumuppam and withdrawal of a proposal to levy a fee to use the NH.
