Five NGOs on Wednesday filed a case before France’s highest administrative court, seeking a ruling that would oblige the French government to take measures preventing French companies and economic institutions from conducting commercial activities in Israeli settlements.
The legal action, which draws on an advisory opinion issued on 19 July, 2024 by the International Court of Justice (ICJ), the United Nations’ highest judicial body, is being led by the International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH), Juristes pour le respect du droit international (JURDI), the International Centre of Justice for Palestinians (ICJP), the Ligue des droits humains (LDH), and Law for Palestine.
