NFL World Reacts to Tyler Huntley Making the Pro Bowl Games

Ravens backup quarterback Tyler Huntley became the latest addition to the AFC Pro Bowl Games roster on Tuesday morning after it was announced that Bills star Josh Allen would be withdrawing from the showcase.

Yes, you heard that right: Pro Bowl Games quarterback Tyler Huntley.

Suffice it to say, the signal-caller’s stats don’t stack up against the league’s most elite quarterbacks. Huntley finished 48th in the league in passing yards (658) and touchdowns (two) during the regular season in a league that has just 32 teams. More so, he only played in five games as well as Baltimore’s wild-card round loss to the Bengals, due to Lamar Jackson nursing an injury.

To make the situation even more stunning, Huntley had thrown for a total of just 275 yards with zero touchdowns when voting for the Pro Bowl Games closed on Dec. 15, according to ESPN’s Field Yates. Nevertheless, Huntley was voted the AFC’s fourth alternate last month, which let fans know that the possibility of him actually making the all-star showcase was real.

Although the NFL world may have had time to figure out that Huntley was a likely addition to the roster with Patrick Mahomes in the Super Bowl, and injuries to Jackson and Tua Tagovailoa, Tuesday morning’s announcement still came as a shock. A number of media members and fans took to Twitter to react the news that the Ravens quarterback will now have his name permanently etched in the Pro Bowl ledger.
