Stefon Diggs, the Buffalo Bills wide receiver, paid homage to the late comedic legend Betty White with his cleats during Sunday’s game against the New York Jets.

Diggs’ cleats had a picture of White throwing up the rock-on hand symbol on one shoe and the phrase “Thank You for Being a Friend” - the theme song for the renowned series The Golden Girls - on the other.

In a report from The Buffalo News, the white cleats part of a Nike Jordan Collection, were created by Dan Gamache, who is the creator behind the custom cleat business Mache.

Gamache has also been a collaborator with Diggs since 2016 and told the outlet that he and Diggs were fans of White.

"We heard of her passing and we knew automatically that we had to honour her with a pair of cleats."

Last week, Diggs honoured Hall of Fame head coach John Madden who passed away on December 28.

Once people saw the cleats, their hearts were warmed by the sweet gesture.

“Might be one of my rival teams but I LOVE THIS!” someone wrote.

“If you aren’t a Bills fan today, Betty White is shaming you from Heaven. Go Damn Bills Baby,” another added.

A third is conviced Diggs cleat game is impeccable and wrote,“ Dude got the hardest cleat game.”
