NFL salary cap could increase to more than $220M in 2023

The 2022 NFL season is still underway but with the Arizona Cardinals fading, looking ahead to 2023 makes sense. This upcoming offseason, teams will be looking at more money available to spend on the salary cap.

According to NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero, the salary cap could exceed $220 million in 2023, although questions must be answered before that number is determined.

This year’s salary cap is $208.2 million.

Some teams have been projecting a cap of closer to $225 million for 2023.

The league still owes players some benefits from the COVID seasons and a new deal for NFL Sunday Ticket has not been reached.

As the Arizona Cardinals head into the offseason following a disappointing 2022, having additional money to improve the team will be a very good thing.
