The Chiefs came very close to giving themselves a chance to tie up Sunday night’s game on the final play, but their Hail Mary just missed being caught by a few players, including Travis Kelce, in the end zone, which allowed the Packers to hold on for a 27-19 win.
There seemed to be some contact between players in the end zone, but thankfully the officials just let things play out and didn’t try to decide anything with their flags. Contact is just going to happen on these types of plays.
NBC rules analyst Terry McAulay weighed in on it, saying there appeared to be a two-handed shove that sent Kelce flying:
"It sure looks like there's a two-hand shove right there."- Terry McAulay

NFL fans didn’t want to hear any of that:
The fake outrage with the “missed” PI call on the Hail Mary is ridiculous. This isn’t a penalty. This play has always been officiated differently.

Chiefs absolutely have a grip with the MVS missed call. They have zero room for complaining on this play https://t.co/kNXywUPNfd
Watch even just one other Hail Mary my god https://t.co/dDY10LT2MI

Go back and watch the last hundred NFL Hail Mary's and you will find a push on all 100.

The solution to needing a pass interference on a Hail Mary to win a game is playing better for the previous 59:59. https://t.co/MzdVMBlgFn
the 4 previous calls were wrong and need to be talked about. this, however, is a normal hail mary https://t.co/BlqrF6c5QW

There is virtually a pass interference on every Hail Mary attempt. They missed the first one no question, but this isn’t as egregious as they made it seem on the broadcast. https://t.co/1Spm8RjSso

The amount of whining because of some contact on the Chiefs’ Hail Mary is insane.

I’ve seen so much worse on Hail Mary throws before and not a peep out of anyone from the broadcast booth. https://t.co/35QqiUnoLE
